I do not understand why people complain about Mondays. There is nothing different about a Monday than a Tuesday or a Friday. They are all 24 hours. They all begin and end in darkness. They each have a beginning, middle, and end. I somewhat understand the concept of Mondays being undesirable because they are the beginning of the work week, however, I imagine most people become bored if they have no work. I generally work 7 days a week (with shorter Saturdays and Sundays with malleable hours), so I do not really have a "beginning" and "end" to my work week. I believe this suits me well, as I am not apt to waste time when I am home, which I suspect most people do.
This all stems from someone whining in the breakroom about Mondays being the worst day of the week. When I inquired if they would feel the same way about Tuesdays if it was the beginning of their work week and then stated that it was rather inane to be prejudicial against days of the week which are incapable of being offensive (as they are merely concepts), I was informed that I was, "too much of a workaholic to understand."
That logic completely escapes me, simply because it was meant in a negative way. However, I do not believe that being dedicated to my career is inappropriate. I live a socially acceptable life: I own my own flat, I have friends, I go on the occasional date. However, I am regarded as a "workaholic" and viewed in a negative light because of that fact. It's interesting, though if they expected me to defend myself, I am afraid they were sorely disappointed.
